The first exhibition of the work of Herbert Shergold explores the forgotten life and work of a 1950s and 60s Bristol studio photographer who, while concealing his homosexuality, created a safe space where men could freely express their identities through intimate and glamorous portraits. His work, blending ordinary people and celebrities, reveals a narrative of beauty, self-exploration, and quiet resistance against the norms of his time.
